Giving
We are acutely aware of the many contributions and sacrifices that have been made by all of our military, and we are dedicated in our commitment to the military community. It’s the least we can do to say “thanks” for those selfless contributions made on our behalf.
Support. Teach. Assist. Recognize. These are the words that comprise the acronym, STAR, in our name and logo, and represent the four general giving areas of the Foundation. While the needs of the military community are vast and ongoing, and it is the Foundation’s desire and intent to offer assistance in as many areas as possible, the ASMBA STAR Foundation strives to respond especially to those needs with special emphasis focused on the following key areas:
SUPPORT
Assistance to Wounded Military Members and Disabled Veterans - The ASMBA STAR Foundation strives to assist wounded members of the U.S. Armed Forces by providing support in their physical and mental recovery so that they may live a full and active life.
TEACH
Education Assistance for Military Families - Recognizing the difficulty in obtaining an education while either being a member of the Armed Forces, or a family member of a military person, the ASMBA STAR Foundation supports programs that provide scholarships to military persons and their family members, including spouses and dependent children of deceased military members.
ASSIST
Assistance to Veterans, Military Members and their Families - The ASMBA STAR Foundation strives to assist veterans, military members and their families, as well as military widows and orphans through a variety of services so we may honor them and show our appreciation for their sacrifice to our nation.
RECOGNIZE
Military Community Development/Services - The ASMBA STAR Foundation supports military community development and services and seeks to provide assistance to those organizations that promote military community support and awareness, particularly through activities that provide for the social and recreational well-being of military members and their families.Through our giving in these four areas and more, the ASMBA STAR Foundation hopes to make a significant and lasting impact on veterans, military members, and their families. Since many of our military and their families are deployed worldwide, we do not restrict our giving to a particular geographical area.
